New release of Excentis ByteBlower simplifies DOCSIS 3.0 TCP/IP testing

Ghent (Belgium), February 21, 2008 - Excentis today announced the public release of its new version of ByteBlowerTM that simplifies traffic testing and brings together the unique combination of an intuitive GUI and a flexible traffic tool.

The new release features support for Source Specific Multicast (SSM) and out-of-sequence detection. ByteBlower now allows to test specific features of the latest DOCSIS 3.0 specifications. Stateful TCP can now be used on a large scale while getting more detailed information in the report.

"ByteBlower can generate traffic to test all features of DOCSIS 3.0", said Wim De Ketelaere, CTO at Excentis. "This new release introduces new protocols and new tests without compromising the ease-of-use of previous versions."

ByteBlower support for protocols goes beyond just sending packets. By participating in the different protocols, ByteBlower is able to identify problems where other traffic analysers fail. The combination of the GUI and Tcl API offers the ideal tool for DOCSIS testing.

The ByteBlower GUI is now available on Windows and Linux (32 bit and 64 bit) platforms, and includes a lot of new features, further reducing configuration time.
